Song for the cosmos — in development

“Song for the cosmos” is an experimental short film about the effects of the new space age. Spaceports are erupting like mushrooms, the rocket industry is booming and satellites are taking over the night sky. At the expense of these endeavours are different communities around the earth from places remote enought to facilitate optimal orbit access while not raising the concerns of major groups of the population. This film takes place in one of such places, a small island called Unst, located in the nothermost point of the UK where a group of venture capitalists are funding northern Europe’s first vertical launch spaceport. On Unst, a close-knit community of 600 people lives in entanglement with an ancient, unique land and sea ecosystem.
